The Glen Caf\u00e9<\/a> <\/em>at the Loch o’ the Lowes is a great spot to admire the view (spot an osprey) and grab a light meal and a cuppa. It’s a popular place for bikers and classic car enthusiasts so there’s often some shiny machinery to admire! (2 min drive) Closed in the winter months. Kayaks and stand up paddle boards can be hired from here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No. 1 Peebles Rd Coffee House<\/em> in Innerleithen is stylish, bohemian and attracts a fantastic range of customers, from dedicated young mountain bikers to cool hipster types to grey haired\u00a0oldies (that’s us) who can spot a great caf\u00e9 when they see one! The coffee is seriously good. The snacks and sandwiches are <\/span>made\u00a0to order and definitely a cut above your average fare. (20 min drive)<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out Out Gastro Pub & Pizzeria<\/a> A relatively new offering for Innerleithen (20 mins) with excellent food and cocktails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saffron Restaurant<\/a> <\/em>in Innerleithen serves really excellent Indian meals and also does takeaway. Very (very) small and intimate with its own character. (20 min drive)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traquair Arms<\/a> <\/em>in Innerleithen. Good beer, good food and accommodation at reasonable prices. Recommended. (20 min drive)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caldwell’s Ice Cream<\/a><\/em> shop is a family business making real ice cream. Innerleithen is the home base but they have a shop in Peebles too. Traditional ice cream (as against Mr Whippy style) is a touch expensive these days so brace yourself … but it’s worth it! (20 min drive)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Waterwheel Restaurant<\/a> <\/em>is on the way in to Selkirk and is adjacent to the Philiphaugh Salmon Viewing Centre. This large purpose built log cabin has proved to be popular with locals and visitors alike. Teas coffees and light meals are generally the order of the day. (25 min drive)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brodie’s Restaurant, wine bar and coffee lounge<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in Moffat.\u00a0Comfortable with excellent service and quality food and drinks. (29 min drive)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
